Cooper's First Camping Trip

While we were getting everything ready to leave, Cooper was entertained for a good 45 minutes playing in his Daddies work boots.

They are still a little big buddy!

I must admit, the older I get the more wussy I get. We slept in a tent which was a big deal to me. Ever since that boy got ripped out of his tent in AF canyon by a bear and eaten, my days of sleeping in a tent have been over. I decided this trip, I would give it a shot because, we were in a fenced in lot, we were in the middle of a city, and right next to a highway. Let me explain about being in the middle of a city. I don't know how many of you have heard of Scofield, but that is the city we stayed at. Its population is probably 60 and is an hour up Spanish Fork Canyon. Anyways, with all of those things and making sure there wasn't any food within 30 feet of our tent, I felt save enough to sleep in a tent. Boy did I make a big mistake. No, no bears came up to our tent, we just got maybe one hour of sleep. Between the diesels driving by every half hour all through the night, the train that was 45 minutes long and every tire was in need of WD40, the heard of 50 cows in the field next to us that each sounded like they were giving birth all night long...seriously, the moon shining in our tent, the freezing cold air, Matt, Cooper and I sleeping on a full size air mattress that completely deflated after an hour of laying on it, my brothers heater on his trailer that kept trying to turn on all night but was broken, and my sweet nephew that screamed ALL night long...WE HAD NO SLEEP AND POSSIBLY THE MOST ANNOYING NIGHT OF OUR LIVES! As soon as the night was over though, we had a blast! Even though we had no sleep it was a really fun trip.

There was a huge rock hill that was heaven for Cooper. Being able to climb and throw rocks are two of the greatest things to him.

They have an old jail there that was really used hundreds of years ago. It was pretty cool. Believe it or not, we had enough four wheelers and rangers to take all of those kiddos and five adults on a tour around town.

This was my ride. Rangers are AWESOME!!! I was shaded the whole time and there are seat belts so the little ones could come.

Half way through town, Tripp was asleep on Cooper's shoulder. It was so cute. The little stinker should be tired after screaming all night :)

Matt taking Taiten for a ride.

Matt was taking Cooper on a ride and decided to take him through a huge puddle. Cooper thought it was great!

Matt and Cooper.

Cooper and his Daddy. It was such a fun weekend. Thank you so much Rodger and Jamie for inviting us up. We loved it...minus the night :)

What a Bro in Law

Ya know, I only have one brother in law and I couldn't be more happy with the one I got. He has recently left for the army and has been away from my sis and his baby for 2 months. He recently graduated from boot camp which is why my sister, their baby, and my mom were able to go see him.

They have all missed each other so much. I can't even imagine!

Getting ready to leave.

Their last goodbye. My heart just aches for them when I see this picture.

Jeremy saying goodbye to his baby. He left when Deegan was only 8 weeks old. At this trip Deegan was 4 months and Jeremy will not see him again until he is 8 months old. I have a whole new respect for the people who serve our country and their families. They sure do sacrifice a lot. I am so proud of Jeremy and all that he has accomplished.

A Week Late

Matt had a birthday a week ago... BIG 27! We had a three day long celebration that was a lot of fun. On his birthday we went to dinner and movie with our friends Elise and Bronson. That may sound uneventful to some of you, but when you have kids, going to dinner and a movie is a rare occasion.

Since Cooper wasn't able to celebrate on Matt's birthday with us, I wanted to do some fun things with him. So, the day after his birthday, Cooper made a picture for Matt which he did great at. He is starting to love coloring. Then we decorated cupcakes. Cooper thought it was the greatest thing ever.

We would just get one made that would work with a candle and Cooper would dive into it.

Finally we had one ready for Matt to blow out. Cooper helped :)

Cooper also helped getting rid of the leftover frosting. Notice his rino horn.

Yes, Matt did put the whole cupcake in his mouth at once.

This is what Cooper looked like when we were done. He was dyed red for church the next day. It was pretty funny!

The next day we went up to Matt's parents for his families birthday celebration for him. Look at that amazing cake his sister made for him. Matt LOVED it.

He couldn't wait to try it. The fondant tasted like tootsie rolls. YUMMY!!!

We love you so much Matt and are so grateful you are in our lives. You make Cooper and I so happy. You deserve everything you dream of. I love you!!!!

Catch up

It has been a while so I thought I better catch up. Things have been a little crazy at our house but they are starting to settle down. Our sweet little Cooper has been sooo sick :( It started a about 3 weeks ago and he is finally over everything!!! YAY!!! We had our annual Bear Lake trip a few weeks ago which was a blast. We took Cooper to the doctors right before we left and unfortunately found out that he had ear infections so bad that they were swollen over his tubes, thrush, a painful rash all over his body and a sore throat. Driving for 3 hours and through two canyons was not something we were looking forward to, but he did so incredibly well. We took our portable DVD player and he was set.

This his him in the car on the way up.

Cooper playing at the beach!

Hanging out with Daddy. Coopers favorite thing!

We went to a swimming pool while we were there too. It was much cleaner. The beach isn't normal this year. The water has raised so much that there isn't really a beach. It is weeds and mud. After day of weeds and mud, the pool sounded pretty good.

Then we ate this scrumptious pizza. Have you every seen a pizza so big. The thing was ginormous.

After we got back, Cooper and Degan were playing with grandmas glasses.

After we got back Cooper got a temp of 101 so we took him to the doctor again and he had herpangina. I know it sounds like herpes of the vagina. It is the most awful thing ever! My poor baby was suffering from every pain possible. He had ulcers in his throat, a fever, nausea, body aches and he still had his ear infections. Needless to say, we stayed home for a few days. You can tell in the picture above that he just didn't feel good. You can also see that he was trying to make his onsie ty-dye with Popsicles. Popsicles and ice cream were the only things he ate for a few days. Fortunately he is over that.

He loves playing with the hose and getting everyone around him soaking wet. Silly boy!

He is starting to talk like crazy! It is weird how all of a sudden they just start copying everything you say. Some of his favorite things are climbing, kicking balls, singing, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, taking things apart and putting them back together, and reading. He is growing up so fast!
